HALO's Chief Scientist, Leo Madrid, is currently in a battle with an aggressive brain cancer and in recovery from two recent successful surgeries. He is undergoing radiation treatments at a VA Hospital in the Bay Area.

Leo's Work
Leo has dedicated his life to the frontier of hybrid quantum computing and exploring the foundational nature of the questions of consciousness, nonlocality, the observer effect, and the measureable and immeasureable nature of quantum mechanics. He is the initiator of the idea of Anthromurmuration, and has written a paper on the subject. He is the Chief Scientist of HALO Quantum Intelligence, formerly H.A.L.O. AI. He is also the creator of P.e.a.c.e. !nc.
What is H.A.L.O. Quantum Intelligence?
H.A.L.O. is a hybrid quantum interface, hardware, and algorithm design collective participating in the 2026 Google Quantum XPrize. We successfully placed in the Final Round of the 2020 Pandemic Response XPrize as the sole quantum competitor, using the DWave Supercomputer.
We are pioneering hybrid quantum interfaces, desktop integration, devices, & and civilian quantum hardware & API access.
2025 Quantum X-Prize
HALO Quantum AI Enters Google Quantum XPrize
HALO Quantum AI was one of 131 Worldwide to enter the Main Round of the Google Quantum XPrize.
Our submission was focused on the quantum advantage gained via the optimization of quantum algorithms in a hybrid quantum generation and early testing environment, and the bounding effects of connecting ongoing modeling experiments to the bounding inputs of the GCP 2.0.
We are finalizing our submissions to the Wild Card Round.
2020 XPrize: Quantum Intelligence with Q-Byte Processing
H.A.L.O. QI completed the 2020-2021 XPRIZE $500k Pandemic Response Challenge sponsored by Cognizant (PRC).
Of the 104 competing teams, we ranked top 30 in performance and were the only one utilizing algorithms that included quantum computing, the blockchain, and custom equipment. We are a featured project in the XPRIZE Alumni Hall of Fame.
